I have never been so disrespected at a restaurant before. I didn't even want to give this place one star. This was by far the worse experience I have ever had. The food was terrible, but the worst part of our experience was the staff of this restaurant. Our waiter was not attentive whatsoever, so my sister had to get up from our table three times to get a refill for her soda. She asked the bartender to refill it, who only filled the glass up halfway with soda and the rest with ice. My sister told her politely that she did not need anymore ice and when she went to walk away, the bartender said in a rude tone "you're welcome by the way." I was able to see inside the restaurant where I was sitting and I watched the bartender immediately start talking to our waiter and pointing out to us, complaining and throwing her hands in the air with disgusted looks on her face. After the bartender was done talking about us, our waiter came outside on five separate occasions to see if any of the other tables around us needed anything, but not once did he come to ours. My sister had to get up to go find our waiter to see if we could get the check. She went inside and stood there for a minute, with no one around. The bartender came out from the kitchen and started talking to her friend at the bar saying "we're not even busy, I don't have to do anything." The bartender finally looked up at my sister and said "what?" My sister asked if she was able to get the check for us or if our waiter had to do it. The bartender responded and said "umm yeah, your waiter has to do it" then proceeded to keep talking to her friend. My sister asked her if she could find our waiter for us so we could get the check. The bartender was not happy she had to stop talking to her friend to go find our waiter. She disappeared into the kitchen for about 5 minutes (no doubt talking about us once again) and our waiter finally showed up with the check about 7 minutes after asking for him. Once our waiter handed us the check, I saw the bartender inside yet again, complaining about us to other employees of the restaurant. When we left, those employees were sitting outside staring and laughing at us until we left the parking lot. I should have known that it was going to be an unpleasant experience the second we walked in. We were not greeted by the hostesses, but rather just stared at until we told them what we wanted, and once we did, one just stared at us and the other announced she had to go to the bathroom. We were finally sat inside, but it was so freezing we asked to be moved outside. The hostess couldn't be bothered with showing us to another table, so she just pointed to the door and said to just find a table. Not only was the service horrendous, but the food was just plain awful. I had a chicken dish in a white wine sauce that was so salty, it was barely edible. They decided to put random sides with my dish that weren't listed as the sides that came with it on the menu, so I had to ask for them after my meal came out. Also, it came with a side salad, which was the size of my palm....I would hardly call that a side salad. Also, my "side salad" came out with some strawberry dressing, which was definitely not the ranch I asked for. My sister's grilled cheese came out barely toasted, which had to be remade. It was all just awful. I didn't even bother asking for the manager or sending my chicken dish back after all of the hassle and unpleasant staff members we had already dealt with.

Great food, great drinks, super service, great Lady staff who add that lot a bit extra help for food and drink. I hope the owner keeps paying the staff to work there, they're great

Friendly, relaxing and really good food. Upon arriving I asked my server, Tara, what were the best sellers and what she suggested. Without hesitation she told me that the burgers were killer. She also spoke highly of Shepard's pie and one or two other dishes, but after having been in Brazil for two months I've been craving a really good burger. I went with the Steak & Blue burger. It was a good choice. The burger truly was a joy. The fries were an excellent accompaniment, as was the Magic Hat #9. When I inquired as to dessert recommendations she simply said "I'll put in the order for the blueberry donuts." The made to order taste explosions could easily become addictive! The two donuts, and two donut holes, come with Bourbon Cream Cheese Icing and a strawberry lime dipping sauce. I was taught to eat the holes first before they get cold. Dip them in the white sauce, then the red sauce and then back in the white sauce. Pure heavenly warmth that melts in your mouth ... Be sure to save room for these! The regulars at the bar were friendly and entertaining. An enjoyable experience for sure.

So my friend and I went here for dinner and luckily stumbled upon their open mic night. The music was good and we were able to get up there and sing too! So much fun! They people were very friendly and welcoming. The food was okay...I had the steak special. The mashed potatoes were in need of flavor, but the steak topped with crab meat was PERFECTION. It was perfectly tender and really didn't need steak sauce. I'll definitely be back here.

I just love this place!!! Love the ambiance and the food it's very good!!! My husband loves the habanero chicken wings!!! I love their specials!!! Great food and service!!!
(5)Nyisha C.
Just had a great experience! Sat outside since we brought the dog. They provided water for the pup and made mixed veggies extra soft for our baby to eat. I ordered the steak and bleu salad, and it was one of the best salads I've ever had! My husband got the Reuben which wasn't bad. He was jealous of my salad though. Very accommodating staff and yummy food. Highly recommended!

Amazing food amazing service try the burger of the week they never do you wrong and they always make sure you leave with a smile

I really happy to see all the new cool places popping up in Ormond Beach. I used to live in Ormond and now I am coming over for weekends. This place has a burger of the week, this week not my style, but my dad loved it. It had pickled peppers. I had the french onion soup and my wife had Irish leftover soup. I enjoyed both. I had a regular bacon cheese burger that was really good, my mom, has the reuben, and it was one of the best I have tried, but the superstar was the thai basil peanut sauce chicken wings. The flavor profile is what I love and these are the best I have ever had. They make good drinks, have great beer options and service was good.

Very neat spot, food high quality. I have to say the service was on spot! Very attendant to our needs. Give these guys a try

Awesome awesome restaurant! The owners really care and you can tell. Food is delicious home cooked, comfort food! The kind I grew up with! Even my in laws who are right from Ireland loved the corned beef and cabbage! We took them there for the first time and now it's their favorite place to go. Love that they offer a lot of of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options as everyone in our family has a different like. They go out of their way to make your food the way you want it and we appreciate that so much! That's why we go back time and again! If you have not been please give it a try, you will not be disappointed! The beer and wine list is impressive as well! The service exceptional! 5 star all the way!
(5)Mariela Janelle G.
The service is attentive. The food is yummy. Tina, the bartender, made sure I tried anything on my taste buds desired. Tempting dessert selection, so save room! The vibe is classy, but still laid back. It's been open a year, and I regret this is my first time in. Well, it won't be my last! Cheers!

We went here on a lark one night, and we were very glad we did. The menu is not enormous, but what they do have, they seem to do well, if our experience is any indicator. (I'm not sure if we just missed something wrt the size of their menu...it seems like there are a lot more items on their menu on their website as I look now, after the fact, but no matter; I digress...) I ordered the St. Paddy's Melt, my wife had the Signature Reuben. Both sandwiches were a delight to our taste buds; my wife commented they had ruined her for Reubens now, because it is unlikely any other restaurant would ever be able to match, much less improve upon, the Reuben she was enjoying at this restuarant. My St. Paddy's Melt was a similar experience, leaving us both far from disappointed in our decisions both to eat here and on which items to order from their menu. I can't remember what we ordered for our daughter, but I do remember it being good, and that I kept stealing bites here and there... The waiter was very attentive, friendly, and personable, happily giving us as much time and attention as we needed, letting us sample a couple of beers and giving us recommendations on food and drinks there, and chatting with us about our experiences thus far on vacation, etc. He seemed genuinely interested and engaged in our exchanges, which made the whole experience even more pleasant. If we can find time, we will definitely revisit this restaurant before our vacation is over!

My husband and I went here on st patty's day with no reservation. The hostess was a little slow, but after direction from what I must assume was the manager, we were seated in under 30 minutes! The food was Ah-freakin-mazing! We got the bacon jalapeño poppers, unlike anything we have ever had. I got the shepherds pie and my husband got the boiled dinner. They have a fully stocked bar and knowledgeable bartenders. The only reason this is 4 instead of 5 stars is the hang up with the hostess and then again when we went to get the check our waitress disappeared, but overall a really great experience!
(4)David T.
Best place on Earth!!!! It is our Favorite!!! Great people and we have never had anything we didn't love!!!
(5)Dutch V.
The burgers are outstanding!! Nice wait staff and good beer prices. The dessert menu, although I did not partake, was quite elaborate many different types of desserts. It's worth a stop.
(5)D N.
Great food. We had the beef and blue cheese salad and soup. It was amazing. The server did such a great job. This was our first visit and we will be back.

I have been meaning to write this review for awhile... let me just start by saying that this place is SO SO good. My boyfriend and I come to this place as often as we can and we always get the same thing. For an appetizer, we order the bacon wrapped poppers and for dinner, we always get the chimichurri ribeye steak. This dish is so darn good and the chimichurri is always fresh. The service is always good and the owners are always very nice. The owners take great pride in what they're building and it shows. For those not into the chimichurri, I can say there are tons of items on the menu that look really good, but it is just too hard for me to change!! They also have live music on some nights and some other specials during the week. Definitely a place to add to your "Must Try" list.
(5)Dave O.
Stopped in for a late lunch was greeted and got a table right away and the server was on top of her game got our drink orders and I ordered steak and noodle soup to start just to many veggies for my liking but it wasn't bad plenty of steak. For entrees I ordered the steak dip and fries without mushrooms it was perfectly cooked and the roll was really good crusty and chewy on the inside. I was very happy happy happy my girlfriend ordered the Geno she was very happy also I tasted it very nicely done. The manger came and checked on us very nice touch the server was there when we needed her but let us enjoy our lunch. The price was a little upscale for lunch but the food and service was a good value we plan to return when in the area. The place was clean and tidy and they also offer outside seating. :-)

We almost did not go here because of some mediocre reviews, but it turned out great. Nice beer selection, burger and salad with chicken was great. Would recommend giving them a try.
(5)Amanda V.
Great service and atmosphere. I had the mahi mahi tacos which were amazing. Tuesdays are 2 for 1 house wines. It's nice to have a place like this in Ormond. My husband and I will be back for sure!
(5)Rebecca K.
Excellent service and food. Tabitha was awesome. Steak and blue salad is spot on. Jalapeño poppers are unique and divine. Highly recommend a stop into this local joint.
(5)Heidi W.
Buffingtons has become one of our favorites. I've enjoyed everything but the two stand outs for me are their curry and their burger. Unlike an Indian curry theirs is a British curry which has a sweeter more aromatic quality. It's incredible on their fries or their coconut curry wings (which have surpassed houligans wings *gasp*). Their burgers of the week are not to be missed. I've enjoyed about 6 now and each one has been a work of art. My only complaint would be that I don't know what day they switch out nor is their an app to notify me of the newest creation.... Hmmmm guess I really don't have any complaints. Go check it out!
(5)Cecil H.
Been here twice and enjoyed the JP Wiser whiskey free-be each time. Staff friendly, menu different and great. Fine atmosphere so drop in!

My wife and I were looking to try a new place for lunch today, so we decided on Buffington's since we have heard and read a few good things about it. We came in and were greeted right away by the hostess who walked us right to our table. Our server, Megan, came to our table shortly after to get our drink order. They have have a full bar and carry Coke products. We started with the Gravy Smothered Pub Fries. It was a very big portion for $4.95. They were flavorful, but a little different. My wife liked them but I didn't care too much for them. For our entrees, my wife had the Chi-Chyah Chicken Sandwich and I had the Hot Turkey Lunch. They were both very generous portions and we both really enjoyed our meals. At the end, neither of us had room for dessert. They have happy hour 4-7pm and 11-close. House wines and house wells- 2x1 and $2 domestic beers. We will definitely be returning, maybe next time for happy hour.
(4)Ashley B.
Very attentive staff. Awesome food. Wonderful gaited patio for our doggie to dine w us. Definitely worth the detour off the highway. Coleslaw is yummy. Lots of veggie options. Great beer selection w reasonable prices. Sandwich w aju and shaved beef was killer.

Great new place in Ormond a little upper crust for the neighborhood though. That being said, the service was excellent wait staff attentive and friendly and the atmosphere more than pleasant. We started with an appetizer of Bacon Pepper Bites, a pepper split, cleaned, stuffed with homemade filling, then wrapped in bacon and roasted all served with a cucumber dressing. The app was delicious and plentiful well enough for sharing. I ordered the reuben far and away one of the better I have had in a long time and Diana had fish tacos served in light blue corn taco shells and stuffed with mahi and a light slaw delicious. Both meals came with hand cut fries made to order which were cooked perfectly. Their beer selection is varied and refreshing and their wine list plentiful. All in all a great experience.

Not a place I would visit again. The service turned me off the moment we sat down. We went there on a Monday and were told as soon as we sat down that there were a few things on the menu that are not ready because they just changed their menu. kind of the last thing you want to hear when you go out to eat. Also that they were out of house red wine and they did not have beer list. Normally these things wouldn't bother me that much but this place is closed on Sunday. It's not like all the employees came on on Monday and found out that the menu changed. There had to be some planning involved. Shouldn't of changed the menu if they weren't prepared. As for the red wind how hard would of it been to send an employee to the grocery store next door and stock up? The beer is mostly bottled which was also disappointing. As for the food it definitely wasn't anything spectacular. Dressed up bar food that was over priced. I had the tacos with beef. Lets just say I should of had it as an appetizer.
(2)Ann H.
I would give them half a star if possible. I have been to restaurant with high prices or bad food or bad service but not all three. Waiter started grabbing drink when they were half full. We told him the meat was tough and full of gristle. He looked at us with a blank look. We had been to this place before and been satisfied . It must be under new management. Will not be going back. We were so disappointed
(1)Jackie S.
I'll start off with a quick warning - the wait staff needs some encouragement to be friendly to customers and attentive. One of the main issues that we seem to have is with the wait staff and not with the food. It takes forever to get silverware, napkins, and drink refills. They recently changed the menu which we discovered upon our last visit, some old favorites were removed and some new stuff was added. Luckily the mahi mahi tacos stayed (they are my favorite). The Irish leftover soup is delish and is reminiscent of my childhood. Wednesday is "wingman Wednesday" where you can get 10 wings for $6.60.. Hopefully you like them wet because my mild wings were drenched. We ordered two sets of ten: one set chargrilled and the other set crispy. Both sets arrived crispy and at separate times. Wednesday is also open mic night and features artists of different genres singing tunes of their choice. On our visit there were quite a lot of singers/guitar players that came. It was nice to hear some of the local talent. The hubs sent back his set of ten for a ribeye sandwich which was pretty tasty, so definitely worth the swap. The blueberry donuts are delicious and definitely worth the $5 charge for two.

New to town and went to this place for dinner on Sunday at 5PM. Yelp showed it as open and the sign on the door says its open. Neither is correct - not a soul there, doors locked and bars stools up. Called and no recording. How difficult is it to update a website, Yelp or have a phone message that says you're not open? Apparently, it's pretty hard. We won't be back.

Good addition to Ormond Beach. Always great service, and a good variety in the menu. Never disappointed when I go here.
(5)Rich G.
Yep a 5 star burger. A late lunch. Excellent service and yes my wife both enjoyed our burgers. My French fries came out hot just like they should be. In a small strip mall on the east side. Check it out. Had a nice menu lots of interesting food items. Total for two beers and burgers (2) with tip @ $40.00.

We wanted to try someplace new and this was the place tonight! I'm so glad we did! For an appetizer we had the french fries with gravy and provolone which was much like poutine that my Canadian husband misses! He got boneless wings with citrus BBQ sauce and it was delicious! He also got a steak sandwich similar to a Philly but no peppers. The bread was lightly toasted and he loved it. I got the grilled chicken and berries wrap which was spectacular! The waiter was the best we have had in a long time anywhere. We will definitely be back. The atmosphere was quiet and although I do not like sitting close to a bar, it wasn't rowdy at all, just nice quiet people watching a quiet TV and talking. We will be back!
(5)Tirzah H.
Buffington's is fantastic! We stopped in after a day of moving with my very-hard-to-please Mother in Law. She usually finds something to complain about wherever we wind up, so the fact that she couldn't find anything about Buffington's speaks volumes! I got the fish tacos, which, although I HOPED they would be good I didn't have huge expectations. What I got were probably the best fish tacos I have ever had. We had a great experience, especially considering when we stopped in was one of the first days they began to serve lunch. We will definitely be back!
(4)Keith P.
Excellent service and mostly decent food. If you visit, understand that the basic cuisine is South American fusion. Dishes are seasoned with multi-cultural South American flavors. Fresh cut french fries were the only disappointment for me. The kitchen doesn't understand how to blanche and then cook, so the fries are overcooked. My dining partner was unimpressed with the ribs. Tender, yes, but there was lots of chili powder and cumin rubbed into the ribs and only the barest trace of the highly touted beer-based bar-b-que sauce. What little sauce we found was good. We would have preferred just the sauce and skip the chili-cumin overdose.

Arriving about five p.m., we were seated immediately and our server greeted us with a list of things that they didn't have. We were told that the menu was being redone and had not been printed yet. Happy Hour was in progress and they offered the house Cabernet Sauvignon for that pricing schedule. We ordered two glasses of wine and we heard the bartender yell over to our server that they were out of the house Cabernet. Any restaurant with a 'whatever it takes' attitude would substitute another wine, right? Not Buffington's, nope, it just wasn't available. 'Bar and Grill' are part of the name; you don't run out of the house Cabernet that you have on your Happy Hour! We were badgered by our server asking what we were having, were we ready to order; she wouldn't go away! I ordered an appetizer that I expected to be spicy hot as indicated by the two red peppers on the menu, the stuffed jalapeno bacon dish. In addition, this dish received favorable comments on Yelp. It was far from spicy and it was just ok with very little cheese 'stuffing' in the Jalapeno. The cucumber sauce that they served with it was the best part of it. We also ordered 18 wings that were suppose to be spicy hot. Again the wings were not hot but they were dry and appeared to have been completely cooked and then thrown on a grill to mark them and heat them up before saucing. I looked forward to the corned beef as it had been described as 'great'. Nothing special in my opinion, slightly dry with a slight corned beef taste. Certainly not the best I had in the last ten years. What is served here is basic bar food. The prices are not high and I guess you get what you pay for. There are no beers on tap at this bar but they claim to have at least 55 varieties of bottled domestic and craft beers. Don't ask for a list because it doesn't exist. You are invited to go up to the bar and check out what they have by looking through the glass doors on the coolers. Service was annoying in both style and manner. I still can't believe the 'we're out of the house wine that we just happen to be offering for happy hour' scenario.

Excellent service and food. Everything is fresh and delicious!

I wanna tell all of you out there that these clowns that have given this restaurant anything less than a 5 star rating should be beat upon the head with a very large implement of destruction. Buffingtons is awesome!!! The owners Chris and Josh are the best kind of people who will ( if time allows) come out and speak to every person and let them know how they appreciate their opinion and ask what they could have done better. Allow me tell you from my perspective. ....Nothing! These guys take such pride in their product and in keeping their customers happy that it's ridiculous to think that they could get any y hang less than a perfect review. I urge anyone and everyone in the area to come try out buffingtons unique, fresh, made to order Awesome food selection. If you have had a bad experience here then you must have come in looking for something to bitch about! I love this place!!
(5)Rod B.
I've eaten here a few times for lunch and tried something different each time. From the Steak Dip sandwich to their Thai Peanut Wings, EVERYTHING that I've had at Buffington's has been delicious! The service is top notch, my glass has NEVER been under 1/3 full and the decor is very relaxing. Did I mention that the fries are HAND CUT and they make all of their own sauces and dressings? Seriously, you NEED to try Buffington's!
(5)Mary H.
I recently took a friend to Buffington's for a birthday lunch. It was great. The staff always had smiles on their faces and were familiar with the menu. The service was timely and the food was great too! Will definitely go back.
(5)John R.
Service was excellent. I had the mahi blackened and it was great. The blue cheese and steak pizza I will have again. And the jalapeño poppers outstanding! I'll be back.
(5)Dwayne C.
Am a bit perplexed with all the positive ratings, as we dined at the new Buffington's last month and did not have a good experience, Interior of Buffington's is very nice, with mostly tables and did appear to be a patio seating area and the ability for them to handle a larger crowd of diners. Scott, our waiter was very cordial, efficient, charming and attentive. Menu is small, no issues there for a brand new place. Ordered a fried cheese appetizer, which arrived promptly, although overcooked,it was tasty. Then we waited for our main course to arrive - over 30 minutes.. Better work on this issue mgmnt. Ordered the Teriiyaki Chicken, fresh cut fries and the green bean casserole as waiter said it was great - but was not really.. Honest, I could not cut the chicken with the table knife provided and had to ask for a steak knife, as I demonstrated to my waiter how tough the chicken was cooked. Most restaurants, they would have taken the food back and replaced with a better entree, that I did not end up eating due to such bad quality. Other person in the party ordered the Reuben and fresh cut fries. They reported the Reuben to be sub standard, bit tough and stringy with hardly any sauerkraut nor taste. And we both agreed, the chef loves to OVERCOOK food - even fries. So we wondered if our experience was just a bad day.. Well, have heard from numerous friends saying they have tried Buffington's and not one of them had a great report. Slow to get your food, overcooked, under seasoned and disappointed as most say they wanted this kind of restaurant in the area. Have heard the owners are trying to make things right based on feedback provided on another restaurant review site, where many state the same thing as we do about their dining experience, so we will try them again soon..
(3)Vic I.
Food was really amazing. I had the flank steak with pickled onions and it was perfect. My wife had the daily special burger and it was awesome. My mom had the turkey dinner, and it was so good, I stole her leftovers. You can tell they put a lot of pride in every dish. Our server was Dan(I think), and he was very attentive and anticipated all our needs. I work in a restaurant and I can definitely tell you that, from the hostess to the owners(who both spoke to our table personally), the people genuinely care. Will eat there whenever I am in town.
(5)John C.
Nice new place in Ormond. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great. The 3 Salmon stuffed portobello was a good starter. I had the portobello cucumber salad - it was great. Wife and Daughter split a chicken berry salad that they enjoyed. Son had the Gino sandwich (chicken teriyaki) - it was ok but the fries were not. The s'mores 2 is a nice treat. Beer selection is very nice and the wine selection is ok. Overall a nice place that we will return to.
(4)Justine S.
This was our second attempt at Buffingtons for dinner since they opened - the first time was bad , this was worse than bad. Disgusting food, rude staff and not even a manager or owner to come to the table to try to assist. These positive reviews at lunch - they must be serving a completely different menu than at dinner because I am honestly shocked that they are still in business.
(1)Candy S.
Girls night out and we just happened to pick a place with half price wings night. We chose traditional buffalo, garlic teriyaki and beer B cue which were quickly delivered to the table by our friendly waiter. The wings were small but tender; well charred and delicious. Apparently known for their hand cut fries, we ordered them to share with the table and they were enjoyed by all. As we ate, we were visited by a young man asking about our satisfaction with the food, and he mentioned some additional wing flavors that are going to be added to the menu. Can't wait to return with our other halves another night.

AWESOME TURKEY DINNER !!! Kids chicken fingers are the BOMB !! Irish leftover soup reminds me of the OLD WORLD !!! YUMMY 2 salt lover!!
(5)Kelly S.
We visited Buffington's for lunch today and the food was great. We ordered the jalepano poppers for an appetizer and it came out in a timely manner and they were delicious, not too spicy. For my meal, I ordered the pork medallion which was juicy and amazing, my friend got the "geno special" which is a teriyaki chicken sandwich .. She loved that too. The atmosphere was friendly and fun. We will definately be going back. A great new eatery!
